1. Put Personal Safety First

When meeting someone you do not know well, choose a public location, maintain control of your own transportation, keep your phone charged and accessible, and know how you will safely return to your hotel or residence. Protect your passport, wallet, phone, medications, credit cards, and other valuables, and immediately step away from any situation that makes you uncomfortable or unsafe.

2. Keep Money and Emotion Separate

Dating naturally involves spending money. The important question is whether your financial decisions are driven by your own judgment or by pressure, urgency, guilt, or emotional manipulation.

Be especially cautious about requests involving sudden emergencies, medical bills, family needs, rent, tuition, travel expenses, wire transfers, crypto investments, or recurring financial support. If someone you recently met asks for money or tries to steer you into an investment, treat it as a potential scam. Examine the circumstances, frequency, amount, and pattern before making any decision.

3. Be Honest in What You Log

Hosko only helps you when the information you enter reflects what actually happened. Be truthful in what you record. Fabricating, exaggerating, or distorting an entry to make someone look worse — or to justify a decision you already made — makes the tool useless and can harm a real person.

Treat the people behind every entry with basic respect. Do not use a Sko Index™ to shame, blackmail, or publicly expose someone, and do not create records meant to harass, intimidate, or retaliate against a person who rejected you, disagreed with you, or ended things with you.

4. Protect Your Information & Digital Boundaries

Be cautious about sharing passport information, banking details, account passwords, credit card numbers, government IDs, financial records, hotel room numbers, or home addresses.

Respect digital boundaries as well: never share private messages or screenshots of another person without explicit consent. Do not use another person's information for doxxing, public exposure, or harassment.

5. Alcohol and Judgment

Alcohol can alter both judgment and perception. Stay aware of what you are drinking, maintain control of your beverages at all times, and avoid becoming so impaired that you cannot make clear, informed decisions. If a situation feels wrong or off, leave immediately and seek assistance.

6. Consent, Boundaries & Respectful Conduct

All romantic and sexual interactions must be voluntary and fully consensual. Paying for dinner, drinks, entertainment, transportation, or gifts creates zero obligation for romantic or sexual activity. Consent can be withdrawn at any time.

Communicate respectfully. We have zero tolerance for harassment, threats, intimidation, bullying, sextortion, blackmail, or retaliatory behavior. Never use a Hosko result or score to threaten, humiliate, or publicly accuse another person.

7. Know Their Relationship Status

Marriage laws in the Philippines differ significantly from those in many Western countries. Legal divorce is generally not recognized, and a person may be separated from their spouse while remaining legally married. Before becoming involved with someone, understand their relationship and marital status, and be mindful of local legal realities.

Hosko encourages responsible dating, honesty, mutual consent, and respect for local laws and customs. When in doubt, take the time to verify before getting deeper into a situation.

8. Adults Only — Strict Protection of Minors

Hosko is strictly for adults 18 years of age or older. Never pursue romantic or sexual activity with anyone who is—or who you reasonably suspect may be—under 18. If you are uncertain about someone's age, stop immediately.

Hosko does not enable or allow photographs or images to be uploaded or attached to the Service. Any attempt to use the Service to share or distribute content depicting minors, non-consensual content, or other prohibited material is strictly prohibited. Users are responsible for understanding and complying with all applicable local, Philippine, and international laws.

9. Understand What Hosko Can and Cannot Tell You

Hosko is a private informational and decision-making tool—not a dating service, matchmaking agency, background-check provider, identity-verification service, or guarantee of another person's character or intentions. A Sko Index™ does not guarantee that someone is safe, honest, or compatible.

Hosko evaluates information you provide to help you process your experiences objectively. Use your results for personal decision-making, not as ammunition for conflict or public exposure.

10. No Exploitation, Trafficking, or Commercial Sex

Hosko must never be used to facilitate prostitution, escort services, commercial sexual exploitation, human trafficking, or any exploitative arrangement. These activities are illegal in the Philippines and internationally, cause serious harm to real people, and will result in immediate termination of account access. Always abide by local laws.

Hosko is not an emergency service and cannot provide legal, medical, or law-enforcement assistance. If you believe you or another person is in immediate physical danger, contact local emergency services, police, hotel security, or your home embassy or consulate. If you encounter someone misusing Hosko to harass, exploit, or endanger others, report it through our Contact page so we can review it.

If you suspect human trafficking or exploitation in the Philippines, you can reach the Inter-Agency Council Against Trafficking (IACAT) hotline at 1343 (toll-free nationwide) or (+63 2) 8567-3567, and the Philippine National Police Women and Children Protection Center at (02) 8532-6690 or 911. Hosko cooperates with law enforcement and the IACAT under the Expanded Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act of 2022 (Republic Act No. 11862), including expedited takedown and reporting of suspected trafficking or child-protection violations.
